Course Overview:
Do you have trouble speaking up? Do you freeze and not know what to say? "Speaking up" can foster patient safety, but many hesitate to take the interpersonal risk. Tools have been developed to promote voicing behaviors, yet choosing the right tool remains elusive. We will introduce a framework called "the event-based model of fear intensity" to guide the selection of speaking up tools, and will practice various tools and mitigation strategies.
