Diagnose the Diagnosis: Measuring Clinical Reasoning with Simulation (1090-004059)
CE Hours: 1.50 Session Type: Prerecorded Educational Courses Session Sub Type: Hands-on Workshop (90 minutes) Cost: $0.00
Learning Objective 1:
Complete a simulated clinical reasoning diagnostic case: create differential diagnosis (Ddx), assign data from history and physical to their Ddx, order tests, rank final Dx; analyze their own performance data as well as student examples of data
Learning Objective 2:
Identify the discrete measurable components to making a diagnosis; describe patterns of data that demonstrate cognitive errors
Learning Objective 3:
Assess how their current medical curriculum currently measures and assesses clinical reasoning for medical students and understand how to improve the teaching of clinical reasoning skills
Content Category: Educator
Course Content:
This course is an example of a specific scenario, course, or curriculum.
Course Overview:
This workshop is for medical educators who are passionate about clinical reasoning, cognitive errors and misdiagnosis. This interactive workshop demonstrates an innovative pre-revenue not-for-profit software that collects a large amount of data during the diagnostic process. The goal of this workshop is to demonstrate how cases with data-driven feedback informing clinical reasoning can be provided at scale to a large cohort of learners.
