In Situ Simulation Design to Identify and Mitigate Latent Safety Threats (1090-004198)
CE Hours: 1.50 Session Type: Prerecorded Educational Courses Session Sub Type: Hands-on Workshop (90 minutes) Cost: $0.00
Learning Objective 1:
Identify main categories of latent safety threats, along with examples of each
Learning Objective 2:
Characterize how to utilize in situ simulation to identify latent threats to patient safety and how to utilize in situ simulation to mitigate (or minimize) those threats
Learning Objective 3:
Describe how best to initiate a needs assessment and design an in situ simulation program for identification and mitigation of latent safety threats utilizing specific case studies
Content Category: Educator
Course Content:
This course focuses on a detailed aspect of the topic.
Course Overview:
This session will provide participants with overview and examples of latent safety threats (LST) and in situ simulation and its uses for analyzing LST. Through small group breakout sessions focused on participants’ institutional LST of interest, groups will design needs assessment and an in situ simulation program matched at identifying and mitigating LST.
