Obtaining informed consent in research is an important yet challenging task. It is a process, which ensures that research subjects enter a study voluntarily and with adequate information. We are teaching how to obtain an informed consent using simulation. Using simulated informed consent scenarios based on emergency medicine and pediatric research, research staff members learn and practice the skills needed to obtain an informed consent.
