Safety in Simulation: Policies and Procedures (1090-003495)
CE Hours: 1.00 Session Type: Prerecorded Educational Courses
Learning Objective 1:
Describe how simulation medication safety procedures can be applied to a learner's simulation programs
Learning Objective 2:
Discuss policies and procedures that can be implemented to improve the safety of Standardized Patients during simulation events
Learning Objective 3:
Identify one simulation safety concern or gap that can be resolved through the development of simulation safety standards
This course is a general overview of the topic.
Simulation is a powerful education and quality improvement techniques utilized in staff training and system analysis. Expired medications and supplies are frequently used to increase simulation fidelity which has resulted in staff, learner, and patient injury. During this presentation simulation safety polices and procedures will be reviewed and participants will work in small groups to identify safety gaps and brainstorm solutions.
