Advanced Practice Providers in Simulation Practice and Education (1090-003627)
CE Hours: 1.00 Session Type: Prerecorded Educational Courses
Learning Objective 1:
Summarize the uses of high-fidelity simulations and standardized patient-based activities in advanced practice provider (APP) education.
Learning Objective 2:
Demonstrate the benefits of simulation in multidisciplinary education programs for advanced practice providers.
Learning Objective 3:
Analyze and support the inclusion of both faculty and APP students in the creation and evalu-ation of simulation activities.
This course is a general overview of the topic.
Simulation is frequently used to train advanced practice providers (APPs) to accelerate the development of highly competent clinicians. Simulation can provide useful learning opportunities, allows for teamwork and collaboration, and effectively transfers skills to bedside practice. This panel will highlight the use of simulation for APPs in multiple contexts including high-fidelity simulation, standardized patients and interdisciplinary programs.
