Designing VR Learning Experiences (SimX VR)
Start time: Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 2:00 PM End time: Wednesday, March 3, 2021, 3:00 PM Session Type: Learning Labs Cost: $0.00
Description:
VR is emerging as one of the more important advancements in medical simulation in recent history. The technology is moving quickly and is different in important ways from anything that has come before it. It’s critical for simulation educators to understand the state of the evidence on the technology, the capabilities of current VR simulation systems, and where the technology is going. While the science of educating learners in VR is still young, pioneers in the field are already identifying strategies for making use of the technology’s unique strengths and methods for avoiding some of the pitfalls associated with it’s weaknesses. This workshop will help a sim educator get completely up to speed on VR sim, get hands on experience with the latest in VR simulation technology, and gain an understanding for how to design learning experiences for virtual reality.
