Description:
After over 20 years of medical simulation we know that the skilled instructor is the most important aspect of successful medical simulation. Nevertheless, a lot of money and effort is often invested in hardware, instead of the education and training of instructors. We point out why formal instructor training is so important for the success of your simulation courses, what happens if the instructors are not well trained and what the most important aspects for instructor training are, including human factors and Crew Resource Management (CRM). We also show the great new opportunities that have arisen in online instructor training and share the experiences we have made with hundreds of course participants in our online courses.
There will be plenty of time to answer your questions and discuss your topics of interest.
Objectives:
- Importance of instructor training
- Advantages of skilled instructors and problems with uneducated instructors
- Role of human factors & CRM
- Experience with formal online instructor training courses
- Your questions answered & discussed with faculty
