Course Overview:
During this expert panel we will provide the audience with the concepts necessary to discuss current validity frameworks as applied to assessment in simulation. We will then demonstrate how these principles were applied to develop a novel tool designed to evaluate Entrustable Professional Activities (EPA’s), key tasks within a healthcare discipline that learners can be trusted to perform after demonstration of competence, using simulation.

Co-Presenter: Jonathan Duff, MD, MEd, University of Alberta About the co-presenter: Dr. Duff is a full-time pediatric intensivist and Associate Professor at the Stollery Children’s Hospital. He completed his fellowship in PICU at the Stollery Children’s Hospital and has been on staff since 2005. He is currently the director for pediatric simulation for Stollery Children’s Hospital and the Director of Simulation for the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Alberta. He is currently completing a PhD in Educational Psychology with a focus on feedback and assessment.
